A few words about Rae, a friend and mentor
Rae Denburg Levine served on the ALEPH Board. She also served on the Steering Committee for the formation of OHALAH and was a founding member. She served a four year term on the Ethics Committee, she chaired the commitee for our first three years and she insisted on co-chairing the fourth year with Dan Goldblatt because she wanted to help facilitate a smooth transition to the next generation.
She was a teacher and mentor in the ALEPH Program. Several students benefited in many ways from Rae's efforts.
Rae did many hidden mitzvot following the Talmudic dictum to performs mitzvot without fanfare.
Rae was raised in the orthodox tradition. She cherished her heritage and she also cherished the renewal privileges and responsibilities available to women. Rae was generous, caring and passionately devoted to the message and importance of Jewish Renewal. She authored prayer books and other writings.
