I'm so sorry that we lost touch years ago. I just found out about your passing. I think
and have thought about you countless times over the years. What a creative, beautiful and giving person the world has lost. Your loss will be an inspiration not to wait to catch up with old friends. I apologize. I'll see you on the other side...
For some reason you are on my mind at this moment. I dearly miss you and the conversations we used to have. I want to ask your opinion on all sorts of stuff, I could always count on you for a great brainstorming session....I loved your zest for life and don't understand why your not in it anymore.....it's not the same without you. Very sad.
Oh, I'm very upset and saddened to hear about Rene's passing. I met her at OddzOn but kept in touch for several years, and just had assumed she was very very busy doing all the things she loved. What a beautiful, inspiring person she was to me and my kids. I loved that she was so excited about moving to Oregon and finding her place. I'm so sorry the world lost such a great human being, but we are a better people for having known her so briefly. Love you Rene. RIP. EZ
shocked and saddened at another great artist's passing. she seemed as though nothing would stand in the way of success. i was jealous of all her talent. her true genius was in her sculpture. sensitive, edgey, and utterly fantastic.i hope she knew that. jules
I have just read issue 27 of Gothic Beauty and found out the sad news of your passing. When I saw the picture of you on your bicycle with your pink pigtails you reminded me of a friend I used to know and miss everyday. It saddens me deeply that one as creative and beautiful as you has gone from the world but you will live on through your art , designs and the many people whose hearts you have touched. My heartfelt condolences to all your friends and family
Just found out about René's passing, so sad, I never met her but i used to be an active user in the boards at the lilshecreatures.com site, i loved it there. As a teenager growing up the art of René inspired me in so many ways, and although it may have been a distant way of knowing her, i really admired her and will do forever.
As I was using my last piece of my prized Darkly Collection stationary I decided to call you since we hadn't talked in a while. Instead of finding your phone # I found your obituary. You had too much energy and magic to be taken from the world. We need you. You were my biggest inspiration and an extraordinary person. Truly charmed. I'll miss you horribly.
I am cleaning out my desk at work and come across an old article from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. It is old, dated 1995, paper is yellowing but as I unfold it a steady stream of vivid images begins to swim through my mind. Of many few stand out.
Back then, many were intimidated, but the platinum blonde moved right toward me on the dimly lit dance floor of Nine of Clubs. Rene wasn’t intimidated by my dance style, rather she was prepared to challenge my style and keep up with any moves I would make. Her strong confidence, character and gentle smile were instantaneously woven into the fabric of my existence. That moment will never be forgotten.
There she goes; you know it is Rene driving that unmistakable Mustang down Clifton Avenue. I beep the horn on my old SAAB, she waves hello and drives on…………………
My deepest heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends
We share in the sorrow of Rene's family. We knew her has a child growing up, always happy and energetic. She showed her flair for art with ther Dad's tools at his business. We are so shocked and saddend.
