Mike was a friend in college who was always there when I needed someone to talk with, and for that I'm grateful, but the thing I remember most about Mike was his love of rock music, especially Bob Seger. When I moved to Detroit after graduation, he wrote me letters filled with info about Bob Seger and his music and how great it was. Kind of a coincidence that years later, my son is a classmate of Bob Seger's son. So when I see Bob Seger at school band concerts or cross country meets, I think about Mike and how he would have been suprised to see that he's a typical suburban dad, much like Mike himself.
