Pensive, thoughtful, and so handsome he was.
The four of us sometimes went hiking in the Cuyamacas. We'd pair off, two by two, for a talk and walk and somewhere down the trail, trade partners. Along the way we would make up stories of strange creatures from outer space (and yes, we were probably a little stoned!) And always we brought food to eat. On one of these hikes Lee and I were on a wacky cleansing diet and to accommodate us Bob made a delicious concoction of raw vegetables and fruits. I was very touched by this. Those were special times.

Steve and Bob were an integral part of my San Diego years. I spent many an hour hanging with Steve and by extension Bob at their home (mostly watching movies and eating and doing lots of laughing) -- and hanging at swim team related activities. Bob was one of a kind. He was foremost for me a funny man -- tho a man of few words, he never failed to provide piercing insight to the situation at hand - which revealed what wasnt necessarily being said and provided inevitable comic relief. He was bright, and didn't suffer fools kindly (both qualities I appreciated and found refreshing).

I started this page recently to remember Bob Warren. i met Bob when he was 24 (I was 19) when we were both attending UCLA. He was my partner for 10 years. We moved to San Diego, California together. Bob died at the age of 37. I feel very lucky to have been so close to this wonderful man. Very intelligent and very handsome, Bob had powerful charisma. I have thousands of memories of him, and will add more to this page in time.
