An Unfortunate Loss

Roxanne Paul, 28, was shot in a murder-suicide incident in Burbank, California, Friday, May 4.

Her former boyfriend, Garret Thomas Miao, a 28-year-old man of Chinese descent, broke into her apartment, shot her, then apparently killed himself. Two children in the apartment, ages 4 and 10, were unharmed. The two children were placed with family members.

Last time I seen you was at Grandma Funeral in 89" Now you are in Heaven with her watching over us. I talked to your Mom, Monday nite she misses you & Henry very much!, she doesnt get to see your boys that much and it makes her sad but I know you are keeping an eye on them. So Rest in Peace My Cuz. Love Alway's your Cuz Chula.

Dear Roxanne, I am not sure why but I was on Facebook talking to an old friend and your name came to me. So I looked you up in the search bar and your name at the bottom of the page was an LA times Homicide report..I thought that can't be her! Until I read it happened in Burbank.
It is so sad to know your gone. I wonder how your little man is doing.. Last I saw you both he was about 2 years old. I bet he is a handsome young man now. Your were a wonderful Mommy and Friend. I'm sorry we lost contact.

Roxanne gave me something that called me her angel the christmas before she died. She is and will always be my angel. She is a super hero. I really miss you and wish you could be here to share every moment of my life. Running into you was such a brght light in my life.
