About

Ryan Richard Aylwin

Ryan "Burhed" Aylwin was the beloved son of Gary (Judy) Aylwin & Nancy (Dave) Oswald. Ryan was also the older brother of Eric (Melana) Aylwin and dearly missed by many extended, family and friends.

Ryan grew up in Grimsby, Ontario and passed away very suddenly on April 28, 2007 while residing in White Rock, BC.

Ryan was an avid nature and wildlife lover, with fishing being his greatest passion. He was a gentle soul, who had a lot of friends and family, to which he loved to so dear.

The fact that Ryan did cherish all of his relationships, likely more than we all even knew, makes this site even more meaningful. It is a place where we can all share and remember Ryan for the special touch he put on all of us. We were lucky to know such a great human being, missing him and thinking of him, on a daily basis.

Memories

Queen Charlotte Islands

lindsay Nov 26, 2009

I remember when i was 12 yrs old i went to the Queen Charlottle Islands with my grandparent(George and Pat Maguire) and we went to the gas station there after we got off the ferry and my grandmother said that Ryan was living somewhere on the island. I had never met him but my grandma spoke highly of him. So while my granpa was filling up the motorhome this guy walks up to the window and just stares at me. Then my grandma said 'oh my, ryan how are you'?. Ryan had a bald head and was like towering over me. He was very polite and he shook my hand of course i was so so shy. Later that evening my grandma invited ryan over to the campsite for dinner but we had to wait till he got off of work and i rememebr my grandma getting very mad at me over sea shells i believe so i ran away. Well i only got as far as the entrance way of the campsite when i saw a very small truck like a mazda type driving my way, so i hide in the bushes i was totally crying my eyes out. Ryan was driving this small truck and i rememebr laughing because his knees came towering up beside the sterring wheel. Well he pulled over and gave me a ride back to the motorhome and i explained what had happened he told me not to worry and gave me a big hug. Well 15 years later i had a baby boy and named his middle name Ryan after my cousin. I will never forget that day i got to spend with him and i never got to see him again after that. R.I.P ryan miss you

Just a Happy B-day

Ashley Weatherill-Brown Aug 25, 2008

Its hard that you are no longer with us and that we celebrate your birthday without you. I miss your crazy facebook pictures and our talks that we had, you always knew how to put a girl in a good mood if were upset. Your sence of humour is missed.

Happy Birthday .. I hope you and the boys had a great day parting like the old days!
You of course are in a place that is unknown to us, and we are unaware of what is and what is not, but we hope that you are able to watch us and that you are having a good time with the others we have lost and if so please give them a hug for me becuase I miss everyone so much.

Off Roading

Dad May 01, 2008

I remember one time I was away for the weekend and Ryan "borrowed" by Bronco 4x4, which I had just repainted and added some huge mudder tires to. When I returned it was sitting in the driveway all nice and clean, what a surprise. Upon further investigation I found a very heavy line of mud on the driveway all around the truck. I then popped the hood and it was covered with mud and brush. When I called Ryan and asked if he had used the Bronco his answer was "No not me Dad". Some time later he did confess that he and some friends had gone off roading up the mountain. Ryan always was a bit of a maniac driver and I have many more vehicle stories to share. Dad.

Beaver Valley

Andrea Apr 29, 2008

I think one of the best memories I have of Ry is flying down some side street up at the cottage as fast as he could in Daves old Black truck (sorry Dave). The Neil young was cranked. Our typical ride out on a fishing expedition. So fast this time however he hadn't noticed the cop in the rear view for the last 5 minutes of travel. When the police officer approached the door and asked Ry why he was going so fast and where so determined... that he never notice the flashing lights in the rear view. Ryan explanation to him was of course..... The browns, with a laugh. To all you fisher men or ladies you know this is trout. Something he taught me of course.
Well to make a long story short with only a few demerit points left before losing his licence yet AGAIN, he took pitty on us and sent us on our way. Even forgetting to check if we had a fishing licence.
We enjoyed a great day of fishing a reading in the beaver valley on some rocks in the sun.
RIP Sweets.
