Sandi MacGregor Tribute

Mrs. Sandi S. MacGregor, 40, went to rest in God's loving arms on Wed., April 15, 2009 at L.R.M.C. due to comp. from sepsis.
Sandi was born July 31, 1968, in Watertown, N.Y., daughter of Osborne R. & Verna Hughes Back-us. She graduated from Watertown H.S. in 1986. On Oct. 31, 1989, at St. Patrick's Church in Watertown, she married Christian S. MacGregor & from that moment to her passing, they were inseparably one.
Sandi's loved all of God's creatures, and demonstrated a limitless compassion and love for nature by helping animals; she nursed many dogs back to health. Over the years, Sandi shared her love with Saavik, Khan, Simba, Jade & her beloved Velvet, which she saved at birth & raised. Sandi was an avid diver, & Sandi & Chris would spend as much time as they could in the ocean. To them, it was a new & wonderful world where they were free of limitations.
Sandi is survived by her loving husband, Chris, her wonderful mother, Verna (Hughes) Backus, her 3 sisters, Judy & Bill Cain, Dianne Backus, Barbara & Michael Lamont; 2 brothers, George & Cheri Backus, Rodman, & Scott Backus; Uncle, David & Jean Hughes, Sandi was blessed with several nieces & nephews. Sandi was greeted by God with her father Osborne Backus, her nephew George Allen Backus Jr. & her loyal & trusted Service Dog, Saavik.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to the family at 957 S. Central Ave., Lakeland, 33801.
Sandi always gave of herself & her smile was bright enough to light the world. Sandi also taught us all to live & love, & her absence from us will be deeply felt for the rest of our lives.
