god be with you all,
we watched scott on many occasions and he was amazing to watch and was a true sportsman that lived life to the fullest. may he rest in peace. always remembered
I met scot i a most un likely place. HE had flown with hi dad to roswell nm. to see about some a\c parts 747 to be exzact. I snuck a peek at his dad's airplane and in side was Scot we had nice chat I dismissed my self. Thinking he was just like me a working man, down to earth and we had a good time. what a treasure to loose. GOD'S SPEED SCOT.
Hi,I Wally Dale and my fellow racers well allways remeber Scott, not forgotten.Scott was one the best drivers .I was real shocked when this happen.Scott is in a better place,he will watch over us,Connie, you and your family will always be in my prayers.God bess you all.Lets keep Racing,See you at Track.
What a loss, I met Scott a few times in Pomona Ca. at the Winternationals and Finals. I met him thru Fuzzy Carter (crew cheif for Eddie Hill) Scott was a great guy to be around. Maybe Scott and Fuzzy will once again be together maybe even racing again in heaven racing others like Blain Johnson which I knew also.
THAT MORNING I WAS RIDING AROUND ON MY GOLF CART AND I SAW SCOTT WALKING BY HIMSELF. HE LOOKED UP, HIS EYES AND MINE MET. I STATED THAT WAS SCOTT KALITTA. LATER THAT DAY, I WAS ON THE STARTING LINE AND THE FIRST TWO FUNNY CARS I SAW WAS THAT OF SCOTT. I WATCHED THE RUN. ALL WAS CALM. WHEN WE HEARD THE NEWS, ALL WAS SAD. I WAS LUCKY, CAUSE THAT MORNING WHEN HIS EYES MET MINE, HE WAS SAYING GOODBYE TO ME. HE IS NOW AT REST UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN.
I remember it well. That was before the wheelie bar now used. Scott had a big set to stay in it and it attests to his drive and love for our sport. He is shaking his head at NHRA's decicion to shorten to 1000 feet. That is not how Scott would want to be remembered. More like.... You lift You LOSE!! Just make the tracks safe for 333 mph passes. THAT is what would honor Scott and put meaning to his sacrifice.....
We happened to sneak into the Mac Tools section. Scott was in the final and it was made clear that they were going for a new national record. At the light, the front end started coming up and Scott stayed in it just a little too long. End result? The car skidded to a stop right in front of us. Scott emerged with a smile. That was a great moment for us. It was very exciting for all of us, Scott included. RIP. We will always remember you.
a real racing fan
