Q&A

Q. Did Sean Costello have a philosophy on life? Something he/she always said?

A. I don't have a philosophy of life saying from him, but on the Sunday before his last he looked out my kitchen window into the backyard and with a smile said, "What a beautiful day!"

Q. Describe the perfect day for Sean Costello?

A. A dark room that allowed him to sleep in; waking to the sounds from the XM music station "Soul Street", a sip or two only of black coffee, step outside to smoke the day's first cigarette and check out the day... the rest could be any number of things from curling up on the couch under a blanket and watching the Discovery, History, or National Geographic chanels all day or Soprano re-runs; to just sitting quietly with his eyes closed as he listened to a CD he popped in with the volume real low; to bopping around while he played his records for me. If it was Sunday, the evening would end with tuning into the "Theme time radio hour with Bob Dylan" on XM- something I'm happy to say I turned him on to. Most of all it was Sean being himself when his cell phone was off or broke and he therefore wasn't being inundated with calls or demands for his time from others.

Q. What were some of Sean Costello's favorite foods?

A. Off the top of my head Sean loved the following foods: * Olives, all kinds * Strawberry frosted pop tarts with melted butter- he got me hooked me on this one. * Mushrooms- raw or cooked * Lots of ketchup on his burger although he did a horrible job grilling those burgers, but I ate it anyway. * Grits * Smarties- the candy; one of my all time favorites that is a staple in my home of which he flipped out about. * Blue Corn Chips, especially the spicy ones by Garden of Eatin * Tobasco sauce on a lot of things * Blueberries, Kiwi, Strawberries * Apple juice * The vintage 1993 Macanudo cigar I got him as a "congratulations on new CD" gift- he insisted I smoke it with him * Spicey cocktail sauce on steamed shrimp- he even made me leave the jar with him that's all I got for now...
