Teen Lost
A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed in hit and run accident Friday night caused by a driver who ran a red light.
Sean William McDrudden, of Orlando, died when he accidentally clipped the rear of 19-year-old Shawndreas Lamar Dowdell’s Ford at around 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of Bennet Road and New Broad Street. Traffic homicide investigators say Dowdell was speeding through the intersection when the accident occurred, and fled the scene on foot along with an unknown passenger.
Authorities caught up with Dowdell, who was arrested for possession of cocaine and a previous warrant. Dowdell’s blood was also tested for alcohol.
His passenger has yet to be located.
McDrudden’s death is Orlando’s 20th traffic homicide this year.
