About

Shannon's Story

Shannon was one of the most Godly men I've ever known.  His kindness to and love for others was something to behold.  He freely gave of his talents and time.

He was bi-polar and openly shared this.  He told his story in an effort to help others who suffered from this disease.

Shannon was able to climb out of the darkness of this disease and used his understanding of it to reach others.  He gave God the full credit for his ability to do this.

Shannon especially reached out to young people.  His phone rang constantly and he always had time to talk and to help someone in need.

He was a gifted songwriter, singer, and musician.  He performed with his band in churches and schools.

Shannon worked in a recording studio.  He taught himself to mix music and recorded for his band as well as others.  His supervisor told us after his death that they hired four people to take Shannon's job.

The world is a better place because of his life.  He is truly missed.

I am so honored to have been his mom.

Gone Fishin'

gypseendixie Mar 11, 2009

Shannon has had many pictures taken of him. In most of them he appears serious, thoughtful. Every picture we have of him holding a fish he caught captures this HUGE SMILE. He loved to fish almost as much as making music. He took my boys fishing on occassion and they had the best time. We used to go fishing with Papa, Mama, Mom, Dad & Uncle Bill. While I sunned myself on the front of the boat Shannon fished away. Papa went to be with the Lord about 15 years ago & when Shannon followed it was so nice to think of the two of them sitting in a john boat, baiting hooks & reeling in fishes of gold! So now when I think of Shan not being here I think I'll just picture a sign saying "Gone Fishin'". I love you Shampoo, more than all the fish in the sea! You were the best brother ever & a great uncle. You are missed but I'm so glad to know you're happy & well.
Love,
Susta

My Memory

Bonnie Webb Mar 08, 2009

Shannon was a hugger. He always (even when he was a child) hugged everyone. He never stopped doing this. People come up to me and say how much they loved him for this. He made them feel special.
