8 Wrongfully Killed

The two-state manhunt for an ex-convict suspected of killing eight people in Illinois and Missouri ended Tuesday night with the easy and peaceful arrest of the fugitive at a bar here.

Nicholas T. Sheley, 28, did not resist arrest when police and FBI agents found him smoking a cigarette outside Bindy's at 7 p.m. A bartender and customer recognized the wanted suspect, whose photo has been circulating on TV and newspapers, and tipped the police.

The suspect has been detained at the Granite City police department. He has been charged with murder for killing 65-year-old Ronald Randall, whose body was found Monday behind a grocery store in Galesburg in northwestern Illinois, police told ABCNews.com.

Sheley is also being linked to the death of two men, a woman, a child, and a 93-year-old man in Sterling and Rock Falls, IL, as well as the death of a couple in Festus, MO.

The bodies of all the victims, who were all killed in the same manner, were found from Thursday to Monday.

This is madness. How could somebody do such a thing. Good they caught him.
