Shelley Winters was an Academy Award winning American Actress. She was born in Missouri. She studied acting professionally and prided herself in being a serious actress. She won two Oscars, one for her role in the 'Diary of Anne Frank" (1959) and the second in (1965) "A Patch of Blue". While she had a prolific career acting in movies, she also acted on Broadway and had a second career as an author. She died of heart failure just a few hours after marrying her long time partner Gerry DeFord.
