Born on 1932 in Detroit, Shirley Jean Ashton would become the very warm hearted, spirited matriarch of the Wiley family. She married my grandfather, Donald Clarence Wiley. Together they raised two wonderful boys, Mike and Pat and three beautiful girls, Paula, Vicky, and Christine. She dedicated most of her time to sharing with others, the love and joy she received from life. Shirley was such a pleasure to be around simply because she could find the best parts of any situation. She was a cheerleader everyone could use in their corner. Shirley will always be truly loved and greatly missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know her.

The Way I Remember Mother

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day
For poice, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...Pleople, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

She was so filled with joy and her fine qualities shine in each and everyone of her remarkable Family Members. She certainly was a shining example of a true friend, as Chris is the Dearest Friend anyone could be blessed to have!!!
