My memory

Steve Roach Sep 27, 2009

Wow....I was one of Steves students back in 1999....he was a great guy. I'm back now as an instructor and I was trying to find Steve to ask him for some advice! I'm very sorry to hear about his passing.

Sincerely,

Thank you Frank for you kind words. This time of year is full of aches... the passing of my father (6 yrs. ago today), your father and second to none.... the passing of Steven.

Howard F. Speights, Jr. (Oct 04, 2009)

I have to agree Mr. Speights was a great guy. I guess I might be a bit biased, especially since he was one of my brothers. Like everyone else, I miss him. I had a Steve moment yesterday when I crew chiefing a UH-1H (Huey) that belongs to the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation. I have a lot of great memories of Steve. My two favorites are the night he out ran the Cobb County Police in my car and what he said after I joined in 1972. He said words to the effect they will have to drag out to go in the Army, but in June 1973 he joined the Army and served this country for over 26 years. I miss you Bro, Frank

Hello Steve, Thank you for your kind words. Steven was, indeed, a great guy... and he is sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He would be very proud to know that you have returned here as and instructor and proud for any small part he might have played in your success. I would be very happy to hear of any stories or memories you have of my beloved Steven that you would care to share. Thank you again, Linda

Linda
My thoughts and prays are with you and your family. It's been a year since I visited you and Steve. I have so many wonderful memories from flight school. The other day I was cleaning out an old box and I found the scarf that you and Steve gave me the day I graduated from flight school. It is hard to believe that was 22 May 1986. I consider myself blessed to have met Steve. For many of the flight students he was a great mentor. I know I am a better person because of his friendship and guidance.

Thank you for opening you home to me and my family each and every time I came through town. I know Steve is watching over you and your family. I will continue to visit each and every time I drive through Ozark, Alabama.

Sincerely

Hi, Thank you so much for your caring and thoughtful words. I never got this message... I don't know why... but you have been thought of by me many times over the last couple of years, wishing I knew how to contact you and let you know about Steven. October 15th will be 2 years since Steven passed away and not an hour or day goes by that I don't feel him with me still. I know he thought very highly of you and counted you as a dear and faithful friend. Thank you again for your kindness.... Linda
