A. Steven lived his dream job. His career in the military as a CH-47 pilot was a dream come true for him, When he retired from the military, he completed his Masters Degree and went right back to flying the Chinook for the civilian contractors here at Ft. Rucker. He never got tired of it, and took great pride in the role he played in teaching and preparing the young pilots of todays Army.

A. Steven could have been anything he wanted to be...he was a craftsman, loved to work with is hands..to create and build. In all the years I've known him...nearly 40, there was nothing he couldn't do. At heart, he was a teacher, he enjoyed sharing what he knew.

A. Steven's best friend in childhood was Johnny Griffin. They were best pals from kindergarden through graduation from high school. Johnny flew planes at shows and we lost him when Steven was in flight school.

A. Steven's favorite author was Stephen King, he would get so absorbed in the stories and couldn't wait to tell me what was happening. We both enjoyed sitting around watching TV in the evenings. Probably, his favorite most recent TV show was 24.

A. Steven wasn't a huge collector, but he was a packrat, saved everything, convinced one day he would find use for it, and he usually did. He enjoyed building, rebuilding, and racing RC cars and planes.
