Aunt Tabitha, you were my best friend my everything! I ran to you with all my problems and you were there for me through it all! I know your looking down on me, our family, and your family most of all drue and maddie! Even though I haven't seen them in 3 years I know they still love you like you were here, your there beside them each and everyday! Your in such a better place now and can't wait to see you! I love you Tab

Please don't sing sad songs for me,
Forget your grief and fears,
For I am in a perfect place
Away from pain and tears...
It's far away from hunger
And hurt and want and pride,
I have a place in Heaven
With the Master at my side.
My life on earth was good,
As earthly life can go,
But Paradise is so much more
Than anyone can know...
My heart is filled with happiness
And sweet rejoicing, too.
To walk with God is perfect peace,
A joy forever new.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard his call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys-
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee-
Any poems on losing a loved one would be much appreciated!

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
… I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
… - I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears of all my life! - and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.”
- E. B. Browning –
“Do not Stand at My Grave and Weep”
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
-Mary Elizabeth Frye-
For just a moment
I’m sure I saw a flicker of light ahead.
Perhaps it was your smile.
Though past now, remembered,
in my heart like the small sound of a butterfly passing by.
No night is so dark that can not be brightened with memories of you.
Raindrops carry along your blessings from heaven to wash away my tears and bring me hope anew.
Tabitha, I miss you dear heart. You were always such a pleasing child, a joy, always wearing a smile and lighting up the room with your sunshine, no matter what you were experiencing in your own life. I want to thank you for all the times you brightened up my day. I love you so much that sometimes I think my heart is going to break into a million peices. I can't stand the thought of Drue and Madi having to live their lives without you there, to hug and kiss them and brighten up their lives, the way you did mine. I don't know what all you went through on that last day, and I'm not sure who took your life, but I remember what all you went through leading up to that finale day and the fear I saw in your eyes. How you were able to continue smiling is beyond my realm of imagination. My only consolation in our loss of you is knowing that he won't ever harm you again. May God give me the strength to get through this, and to help me smile (just like you) so that I can try to brighten up Madi and Drue's lives.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home

My Memory
Alison Jun 30, 2008
yet all alone
the one I loved
God has called home
the hugs of friends
helps ease the pain
and I know my loss
is my loved one's gain
but tears now flow
across my face
as I long for just
one more embrace
then comfort comes
and I see Christ's face
He hugs my loved one
and I feel God's grace.
