About Taylor Meyer

HOw come no one noticed?

How come no one knew she was missing?

The Boston Herald Says

Police have recovered the body of a 17-year-old Plainville girl who was last seen leaving an underage drinking party Friday night following a high school homecoming football game.

The body of Taylor Meyer was found today in a swampy, muddy area at the defunct Norfolk airport, Norfolk District Attorney William Keating told reporters during a lunch-hour press conference.

He said there were no obvious signs of trauma, but that an autopsy will be done to determine how she died.

The popular senior was described as a sweet girl who played softball and enjoyed the company of all her friends.

Andrea Kelley, 16, a sophomore at King Philip, said Taylor was “such a happy person. She was always smiling.”

Kelley, wearing a pink ribbon, said it was “heartbreaking” as the grim announcement came over the loudspeaker telling of Taylor’s death. Anguished classmates met with grief counselors and painted sorrowful messages on poster boards. One message read, “Forever in our hearts.”

A cop outside Taylor’s mother’s house said the family would have no comment.

The medical examiner may be the only one who can provide answers to family and friends why the beautiful blonde died after wandering away from a drinking party.

The girl’s body was found yesterday sometime before noon in a swampy, muddy area near the defunct Norfolk airport, said Norfolk District Attorney William Keating.

Meyer was last seen leaving an underage drinking party after a homecoming football game Friday night, police said. Her body was found 100 yards away from where she was last seen.

Keating said there were no obvious signs of trauma, but that an autopsy will be done to determine how she died.

Meyer was with a group of teens who gathered in the wooded area near the former airport to celebrate the school’s 33-8 victory over Fairhaven.

She made a cell phone call at 10:57 p.m. to a distant relative or friend, Keating said. She was last seen at 11 p.m.

Her family reported her missing Saturday at 5 p.m., sparking an exhaustive police search of the area. Keating declined to say why no one reported Meyer missing until 17 hours after she was last seen.
