I was out of the country and in a remote area when Tim Russert passed. I just found out about it today, from the cover of Newsweek while waiting in the doctor's office. I started crying - which I have NEVER done at the death of someone I have never met. In these days, I am skeptical and not fond of media in general, especially those involved in politics, but Tim Russert was someone whose opinion I truly trusted. He was so honest, and great at keeping his interview subjects honest. I felt like he was "one of us" confronting the "bad guys" about all of their lies and mis-deeds and forcing them to give the American public the respect it deserves by speaking honestly with us. I am heartbroken at hearing this and will forever wonder his opinion on current events as they unfold.
