Valentín Elizalde Tribute

On November 26, singer Valentin Elizalde was murdered in Reynosa while leaving a concert. Known as the Golden Rooster, Elizalde sang narcocorrido ballads that were taken up as anthems by the Sinaloa drug cartel and its leader, Joaquin “Shorty” Guzman. The murder is suspected to be related to organized crime.  Other recent deaths of Grupero musicians include Zayda Pena and Sergio Gomez.
