Victoria Venturo Tribute

Victoria Venturo, 29, died late Thursday in a one-car accident near Anthony, Texas, and the car''s driver was found four hours later sitting in a TV news van apparently "intoxicated and disoriented," El Paso County sheriff''s deputies said Friday.

The driver, Marcelo Davila, 19, of Las Cruces was charged with intoxicated manslaughter and accident involving injury or death. He was placed under a $75,000 bond.

Sheriff''s deputies and the Anthony Police Department responded to a rollover accident with serious injuries at 11:11 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10 East about a mile from the state line.

When deputies and police arrived, they found a 1999 Saturn SC 2 on its side facing west in the median. Deputies said a woman standing next to the car said she had been a backseat passenger in the vehicle.

Venturo was found pinned in the front passenger seat. She was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to revive her were unsuccessful, said sheriff''s spokesman Deputy Jesse Tovar.
