I am so proud of all Walter accomplished in his life. Life just isn't always fair and this really sucks. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about my big brother and I miss him terribly. Josie and Wyatt will learn all about their daddy from the great stories we can all share. He was a great dad and I know how his kids were his treasures. I have too many Walter stories to write here, but i will share a few. I remember how he used to sneak out of the house and climb out his window at night. He also had the cool fort in the top of the garage in massapequa where he would hang out with the boys. I rememer trips to the beach in the station wagon he nicknamed the "broccoli spear". This car had no interior seats and you could see the road through the floor. He would drive with his knee playing the harmonica while me and my friends were sliding all over the inside of the wagon.
Walter had a personality and an appearance that was larger than life. In fact his belly was larger than life too.
Walter used to say ,"some guys have six pack abs but I have twelve pack abs!"
He was a patriotic american and a proud union man.
He even had a tattoo on the bottom of his foot that read, "Made in America"
If I got a tattoo mine would say, " Maid in Amercia"
Walter's death has shown me how many people loved and cared for Walt. I am deeply touched by all the outpouring of love and generosity that people have shown my family.
Keep posting your memories of Brother Walt to help keep his memory alive.
God Bless all of you and live with no regrets!!
