About

Chocolate

Aunt Wilria was so cute.  She loved sweets but not chocolate and I remember her saying when asked if she wanted chocolate candy  "I don't like nothing chocolate but my man"!

Memories of Mom

Deborah Shumate Nov 23, 2010

She used to visit us and when we lived in Indiana, we would do so much and have so much fun. We would do jigsaw puzzles, watch TV, shop. She was thrilled to see her first snowflakes, and every time it snows I think of her smile and wonder. She was the sweetest, most wonderful person and I am so happy to have known her all those years. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. She raised a wonderful man and I love him dearly! Thanks Mom, I sure do miss you everyday.

Conversations with my Mother

Cheryl Burnett May 20, 2008

My mother would call me everyday. She didn't always have anything to say, but she wanted to know what I was doing. Even if I was doing nothing, it didn't seem to matter to her. It finally occured to me that she might just want to hear my voice, so I started calling her earlier in the day. She would still make her call, though. It is very humbling to be loved so much. Even though I was never much of a telephone talker, I would love to hear her voice again. Mother, I love and miss you. Cheryl

A little about my Mom!

Janet Booth Apr 07, 2008

My Mom was an avid "Soap Opera" fan. She very easily could have written the dialog for them, since she knew every character and all their history.
If, for any reason other than the world series, the soaps were prempted, she would have a fit, and has been known to call the TV statiion and complain.
She had me hooked for a long time, but I eventually weaned myself down to just one, and that is the Young and the Restless.
When I am watching and something happens, I still find myself reaching for the phone to call her, so we could discuss what we thought was going to happen next.
That's just ONE of the many reasons why I miss her.
We only get one Mother and I'm glad I got her.
Mom you will always live in my heart. The memories are endless and priceless.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about you.
It's hard to believe you are gone.
I thank God you didn't have to suffer very long. I wouldn't have wanted you to be here, suffering, for my own selfish reasons.
I love you Mother and I miss you very much!
Janet
