Aaron Spelling holds the world record for having been the most prolific television producer in history. He had his finger on the heart beat of the audience and wrote, or produced hit after hit series including The Mod Squad, Charlie’s Angels, The Rookies, and Beverly Hills 90201.
He was born in Texas and served in the United States Air Forces, and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1949. He married in 1953 and moved to California.
His success was enormous as was his fortune. In 2001 he was diagnosed with oral cancer and then suffered a stroke in 2006. He died from complications of the stroke.
