Biography
Bob Denver was an actor best known for his role of Gilligan on the iconic television show Gilligan’s Island. He was born in New York State, his family moved to Texas, and he eventually attended Loyola University. He developed a reputation for being a gracious actor. He starred in “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”, in the late 1950’s and then in “Gilligan’s Island”. His later television appearances featured him as virtually the same character. Later in life he and his wife operated a small radio station. He had a run in with police in the late 1990’s when a parcel of marijuana was delivered to his home. He served six months probation.
In 2005 he underwent bypass surgery and was subsequently diagnosed with throat cancer. He died of complications resulting from throat surgery.

He always had a way to make a person laugh and look at the brigher side of life no matter what your circumstances were.
He made a very positive impact on many people's lives.
My sympathy and prayers are with his family.
