Anniversary party

Steve Kofmehl Jul 20, 2009

I missed Cliff this weekend at our anniversary party. He would have been visiting with all the relatives and enjoying the entertainment. I knew him for over 25 years and he was a good friend and mentor.

My Dad My Friend

Dad,
I really miss you! Sometimes, I need help finding the right tool or the right paint or the plan to complete my projects and I go to the phone to call you because you were ALWAYS there! Not now! Gosh, I miss you so much but I am so glad you are no longer struggling!

Harvest time

Steve Kofmehl Mar 09, 2009

One of my best memories is helping at harvest time. One of the first memories I have is when George Slota used to come and pick the ear corn. I didn't know quite how to take George at first, but soon learned you had to give him as much BS as he was putting out, and then we got along fine. One time Doc Radke, (a high school classmate) came out for supper and George was really ribbing him good about women, he was a highly eligable bachelor at the time.
I never saw Cliff get upset much when things weren't going right, we would just keep trying until we got it done. When we took the roof of the garage of our house in Holstein in one piece, put it on trailer and hauled it to the farm, that was one job I didn't think we'd get done, but we prevailed.

Chocolate milk

Marilyn Kofmehl Mar 05, 2009

I remember we were having a hayride for the church youth group at our house. We had hot chocolate and mom ran out of milk and sent Dad to go get somemore in the barn. I don't remember who it was but some girl asked him was he was doing and he said he had to get some more chocolate milk. She wasn't sure that she believed him. He pointed to the Jersey cow - Zsa Zsa and he said she gave chocolate milk. Later, I told her he was just kidding.
