One of my best memories is helping at harvest time. One of the first memories I have is when George Slota used to come and pick the ear corn. I didn't know quite how to take George at first, but soon learned you had to give him as much BS as he was putting out, and then we got along fine. One time Doc Radke, (a high school classmate) came out for supper and George was really ribbing him good about women, he was a highly eligable bachelor at the time.
I never saw Cliff get upset much when things weren't going right, we would just keep trying until we got it done. When we took the roof of the garage of our house in Holstein in one piece, put it on trailer and hauled it to the farm, that was one job I didn't think we'd get done, but we prevailed.
