Great Windsurfer, Great Person

Carol B Jun 16, 2011

She was special. Was amazing to watch her windsurfing. Was so much into it. Beautiful. Was like art. No other Brazilian woman has or will achieve her style and performance in wave sailing.

Obrigado por ter dividido com a gente o que voce e' Dora. Reste ao lado de Deus com muita luz, paz e amor.

Com carinho,

Carol B

Good friend and avid windsurfer

I always remember Dora coming to Hawaii every year. The first time I met her was at Diamond Head and she really put so much energy to improve her windsurfing skills. We became good friend in the early 90s and I lost touch with her by the end of the decade but I sometimes meet her at DH. What shock to find out about her death! Dora will be missed. She always brought her shining charisma whenever she shows up at the beach. Although she is from Brazil her spirit will always be in the beautiful places she really love in Hawaii. I always could imagine her sailing in the beautiful waters of Diamond Head.
Love,
Your fan and friend XOXOXO

Living in Hawaii all my life has been a dream but coming every year to Hawaii was Dora's dream too and she always made it happen. Myself and Sonja Evenson taught Dora how to speak some english when we were in between taking our breaks a Diamond Head surf spot.
I just heard about this 2 months ago and had to find a way to let others know about this beautiful, funny and lovely friend. I have many pictures which I will download in January 2009.
We lost touch maybe 4 years ago and she was always going here and everywhere. I will miss her and I want to share pictures. I even have signed front cover shots I will share. It was a joke to sign cover shots and share them with each other.
Dora will be missed but her spirit will always be with me and the people she touched.
My Love,
Sherri Carney
