Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization recommends that women begin annual mammography screening at age 40. Women under 40 with either a family history of breast cancer or other concerns about their personal risk should consult a medical professional about when to begin mammography.
See your medical professional on a regular basis. A clinical breast examination should be part of your routine checkup. Beginning at age 20 women should have a clinical breast exam every two to three years. Women age 40 and older should have one every year.
Perform breast self-examination once a month.
If you find something that you know is unusual for you, have a doctor check it out. A LUMP YOU FIND SHOULD NEVER BE IGNORED. See the following link for instructions on how to administer a proper breast self exam: http://www.respectance.com/group/Breast-Cancer-Awareness/topic/10-STEP-BREAST-SELF-EXAM_jYxw0wG0TP0X0GT
Early Detection Saves Lives.
The statistics on breast Cancer are staggering. . . in North America, a woman is diagnosed every three minutes.
Does every woman perform a SBE on a regular basis? Sadly, no. All too often, when a lump is found, surgery or even death may well have been avoided.
The Breast Chek kit IS saving lives. A global social initiative to get a Breast Chek kit into the hands of every woman in the world. It works like a magnifying glass for the fingertips.
