Hit and Run Victims

Safely Home May 10, 2008

I am the mother of a hit and run victim.  My son was killed on July 28, 2006.  He was

a pedestrian walking home from bowling one night when he was killed by a drunk driver.

The driver left him in the roadway, and a second car impacted my son.  Justice was not

served.  I never got to see my son.  Not only did the "justice system" fail my son, but the judge who was assigned the case did too.  My son left not only his parents behind, but was

the father of a 7 year old daughter.

My heart aches for my son.  There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of my son, and

the pain that this tragedy has caused to all that loved him so much.

There should NEVER be another family to go through what I am feeling each day.

Life is about the choices that we make, and the person that killed my son made the decision to DRIVE DRUNK.  He killed my son, and all of our hopes and dreams for his life.

My heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one to a drunk driver.  The laws must be changed so that those who choose to drink and drive will be punished to the fullest extent.

Through this negligence my son lost his life.  NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT to take another persons life.  NO ONE.  Only GOD.
