Hello, My name is Deana and would to meet others who have experienced the loss of a child. I lost my 2 yr old daughter to an accidental drowning. It was the most tragic time in my life that I will never forget. Life is not fair and don't have a choice but to accept what it brings us. I hope I can find people who can help me to deal as I can hopefully help others as well. We all need support and comfort during these times. Such a terrible way to meet new people, but I have joined other groups online and it has helped to find peace as well as making friends. Please know I am here for anyone who wished to become a member of this group.
hi deana, my name is deb and we lost our youngest granddaughter at the age of 14 months this past november. i am still horrified and beyond grief! how r u coping with this?
Hello Nana. Nice to meet you. Wish it wasn't this way. Sorry it has taken me so long to check this. I apologize so much. It's just no one was responding for so long that I didn't check as often. Just decided to check it now. Thank you for your responses. I am so very sorry that you are going through such a horrible tragedy. I feel that this is the hardest death anyone could go through. I couldn't have gotten through all this without the love and support of my family and friends. I do feel that going to talk to someone whether through a church or just someone that will listen to your feelings. You will need to get it out, and I do mean cry. It will be 3 yrs this June for my precious Katelyn. I never go a day without thinking of her, but I do try to keep her memory alive by doing things like keep scrapbooks, started a memorial garden, also an annual memorial party in june. Besides going to the cemetery periodically, too. Most importantly, you need to talk about your granddaughter as much as you can. It is so important to express your feelings. I also have 3 memorial websites that I started in memory of Katelyn. It really is difficult to start these, but really helps too. It helps me to do something for her as well as keeping her in our lives by doing these things. So think about these things. Maybe it's something you can consider. I hope I helped in some way. I will try and check in more often. I do thank you for responding, and will be thinking of you often. Please know I am here for you and will try and help if I can. Oh, you can try counseling too, it's hard to get through sometimes, but I met some really nice people especially going through the same situations as I. Hugs to you!!!!!
