At the age of 15 I fell in love for the first time. Angel Eyes was our song. Because to me that was the perfect description of her. My buddies mom in high school said she loved the blues. I came in with see the light and hell to pay. She was a fan ever since. She passed 5 yrs ago of cancer. In college (1992) I had the "See the Light tape playing... Angel Eyes again.... a friend burst into my room (just got dumped by his girl) with this pale look he said "I can't believe you have this song... I've been looking for it for years." We then discussed my friends problems and my past. I promised him that I would dance with my wife (hypothetical) to the song at my wedding. 10 yrs later I did. The marriage didn't last... but the song did. About six months ago I ran into that first love... as soon as I looked in her eyes... I heard the intro as clear as bell in my head. Jeff was an amazing musician and songwriter. To the family, I send my deepest condolences. He will be deeply missed.

My husband and I have got almost all your records. We're going to miss seeing you in concert, but you and your music will be alive into our souls forever. Thank you for all your musical legacy. That means a great loss for many of us. We give our condolences to his relatives, fans, and in fact to ourselves.

I remember being a teenager in the 80's late at night and seeing this guy on MTV for the first time...I remember at first thinking "why is he sitting down"???....Then the blast of one the the most powerful guitar openings ive ever heard from the song See the Light started up...I went out the next day and bought the cd...Then bought another when it wore out...Then another...I only learned today of his passing (Friday 7th November) and my deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends...He was a rare talent and will be truly missed.

Regards

To the Jeff Healy Family. Sorry for your loss. He was and continues to be an inspiration to all of us who love music. He reminds me so much of my brother who also passed away at an early age of 34 . May you have peace in knowing that you too will once see them again.

Jeff Healey Undiscovered

Laura Morgan Oct 23, 2008

I first saw Jeff in a now closed down bar in Calgary that was known for it's blues. I thought this guy was assome, but why was he playing his gitar that way. Well it was a slide gitar and he was blind. Resently watched road house again and thought what ever happened to him and now found out this most talented slide gitarest is gone. The most talentented people you care about are taken from you far to soon, and then others just brand you forever. Your songs will live with me forever Jeff.
