About

Save a Life, Donate an Organ

Before taking Kevin off of life support, our family made the choice to donate his organs and save other lives. Kevin never talked about this choice as an option but we believe he would have wanted to if given the choice since he donated blood a good bit and was such a giving and loving person. He would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger. I am home visiting this weekend and my mom just shared with me a letter we received from one the men that received on of Kevin's kidneys. My mom has been writing those who received his organs in hopes that one day, we can meet someone who is still alive because of Kevin's tragedy and loss. I will soon upload the letter we received from him and a few photos. I got goose bumps and tear filled eyes reading it.

I am soo very proud of the amazing person my brother Kevin was, and am so grateful for the 29 years we shared together. I wouldn't trade them for anything in this world. And I am glad we chose to donate his organs to those who may not have survived without them. I love you Kev and you will live on in all of our hearts and in the lives of those who received your organs.

Times with Our Aunt

Amy-Kev's sister Oct 08, 2008

Some of my favorite times with Kevin where when we spent weekends with our Aunt Sharon. She helped mold us to become the adults that we are today. She had faith in us when we didn't have faith in ourselves, she gave us strength and trusted us. She showed us that one could be self sufficent and independant. She got us out and showed us things in life that we may not have seen or attempted without her encouragement. She showed us how to drive long before we got our drivers licenses', she helped us get our first job together, cleaning horse stalls together. It was always a guarnteed good time when we were with her. We were forever greatful for the times we had with her growing up. And the fact that we could do everything together was perfect. We were best friends from day one, we trusted each other, had faith in one another. He was the best older brother a girl could ever ask for. I have laughed my hardest, smiled the biggest, and loved the most when I am with him. Kev, noone will ever take the place you have in my heart, I will always love you big bro!

My Memory

Shawna- Kev's Sister Sep 01, 2008

I remember driving in the car with Kevin, right after I got my new car. He fell asleep and a deer jumped over my car. I said " Kev, did you see that?" And he said "See What?" He is always known for sleeping through things. He always laughed at my driving skills, esp when I was on the wrong side of the road. He showed his love to me by teasing me, so much that my automatic response to him was "Shut up Kev". Now that he is gone, I miss him picking on me more than I could have ever imagined.

My Memory

Katie Aug 11, 2008

I was one of Amy's friends in the fifth grade and I used to go over to their house to play. One of my memories of Kevin was he would always spy on Amy and I. We would be in her room playing girl stuff and we would look behind us and he would be peeking around the corner. He would always try to hide but we thought it was so funny. He always wanted to know what we were doing. Just being a typical brother. I was so saddened to hear the news of his passing. It's been so long but I remember him so well. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

A loving Son, Brother & Friend

Kevin's Mom Aug 07, 2008

I was blessed to have Kevin as my first born. He was a big "11lbs. 2oz." & beautiful baby. He became a good hearted man. I believe good took him from us so young because he had such a kind spirit. I will forever cherish the memories of him coming home after work and talking to me while I made supper. This memory I miss soo much! We all miss him driving is his Dodge truck, his "baby". When Kevin was in the hospital, I witnessed glowing angels around his hospital bed as we prayed for his recovery. This experience has given me peace and reassurance that God is taking care of him for us. I never imagined Kevin as a guardian angel before, but I know now he is watching over all of us. So until we meet again, he will never be forgotten. Kevin, I love you always!
