About

Roy Manuel Camacho

Roy Manuel Camacho was born June 11, 1940 in Houston, TX. He was the youngest of five brothers and sisters. He was called to heaven from West Houston Medical Center in Houston, TX on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

Roy will always be remembered as a humble man with deep faith in the Lord. He also loved life and was known for his sense of humor. His passion was in the culinary arts for over 20 years. He  became a chef at the historical Shamrock Hotel and the Warwick Hotel in Houston, TX. He loved the great outdoors, but not as much as he loved being with his family.

He is survived by his long-time partner Adela Garza Camacho; by his three children Raul Fernando Camacho (Austin, TX), Michael Miguel Camacho and Dennis Camacho; by his daughter-in-laws Hana Pangestu-Camacho (Austin, TX), Shannon Wolf Camacho and Mary Jo Camacho; by his four grandchildren Joshua Stockton (Woodstock, GA), Zachary Ryan Camacho (Austin, TX), Allison Marie Camacho, and Ashley Michele Camacho; and also by his beloved brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff on West Houston Medical Center and to all family and friends that had visited him at the hospital or kept him in your prayer. He will be deeply missed and may he rest in peace. As he always says at the end: GOD BLESS YOU.

Hana Pangestu-Camacho Sep 21, 2011

One of the hardest part moving to a different country is being far away from my my parents and sisters. Loosing my father 11 years ago was a really tough for me until I got to know you and your family. I feels very lucky that I have two wonderful fathers in my life.

Loosing you is very hard for me. It feels like I loose another father all over again. I will miss you both dearly. Thank you for giving me another wonderful family in my life. I will cheerish all of your memories with them forever. I know that both of you are taking care of us from above.

Love you always,

Hana
