The thing, i think about cats, is they are very loving and loyal, they give you their all. Alex was so easy for me to love. When he passed on,my heart broke, but i had to remember what a good friend he'd been to me, how lucky i was to have him to love for 13yrs. So it'sa good thing to have, and love a pet, and a heartbreaking thing, when you have to let them go So, if you think you can let it go when the time comes, then by all means get a furry friend, it can only bring you joy,

I think this is the sweetest thing you could have done for alex. I am a cat lover as well and I love the story of rainbow bridgeit is beutiful aswell as alex . It is nice to know that there is someone out there like you. Until you see him again,God bless you.

I wholeheartedly agree. I am too a cat lover, and I have a beautiful tabby cat named Shady (turns out that I named her right). Cats are magnificient creatures with varied personalities. Although you can always get another cat, they are irreplaceable. May you rest in peace Sir Alex. You will not be forgotten.

I am a cat lover. I have had 6 in my life. The 2 I have now are the light of my life. I had a cat 5 years ago that dissapeared. We think he was killed by a fisher cat. But we never found any evidence. You cat Alex was a beautiful cat. I do wish I would have known him. Here is a poem for you: Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
