As a child our parents took my sister Jen and I to visit the farm to see where our Nan, Kate, grew up and to meet our great Uncle Alick and Aunty Pat. I remember Alick showing us his beautiful wood turning and collecting nuts from the orchard. I think they were macadamias. Almost blind though he was, Alick drove us all around farm and into the state forest in his landrover. All the kids were in a trailer on the back. As we approached a creek he said, 'hang on kids the bridge is a bit narrow but don't worry, I've been driving it for quite a while now! ' Then we hit a pot hole and he said, 'sorry kids, that must be a new one!' That was twenty years ago and sadly was the last time I visited the farm and Uncle Alick, though we always get regular updates from Nan. To all the Homewoods, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Chris Lacey (Grandson of Kate)
