We would like to express our extreme sadness at the passing of our wonderful "Poppy" We are filled with mixed emotions; relief for him - as he no longer has to suffer with the going in and out of surgery, the ventilator and all the other things he has had to endure these last weeks. But then we are also heartbroken at the thought of never seeing him again. Over the last 27 years he was such a big part of our lives. Giving me away at my wedding, which meant the world to me. Being a loving, caring Poppy to our children, who enjoyed talking to them on the phone and taking an interest in their lives. He always came to the phone even if we had rung when he was watching a game of football, cricket or tennis. Visits from Nan and Pop were cherished times in all of our lives and have left us with memories we will have forever. He loved playing a game of Monopoly or Scrabble with them. Luke especially liked playing Backgammon with Pop. He always enjoyed going to tennis with the children and looked forward to a chat with coach Harry after the games. One special memory we have is the day we all went to Movieworld with Nan and Pop. He was a special favourite with our dog Max. Everytime Pop sat down Max jumped on his lap. Mum and Barry were lucky to have found each other. They have looked after each other over the years, with Mum taking such good care of him throughout his times of illness. We are so sorry we can not be there to say goodbye and support you, Mum. We have felt useless being so far away throughout this whole time. We will be there with you in spirit and know you will all be there together to suport each other. its so wonderful that Kya, Paul, Ashlee and family, Paige and Taj and Jeff are all there and I'm sure poor Tash must feel like me! Thank you Michele, John and the Dunn family for being with Mum through this difficult time and for the many phone calls to keep us updated on the situation. It was much appreciated. I'm sure Pop would have felt the love of you all being there by his side. Love to you Janine and Grant and your families in this time of great sadness, as you have lost this very special man your father. We love you, Pop. And may god keep you in his care. Love from all of us. Diane, Peter, Marc, Luke, Stephanie, Nicolas, Bianca and Lucy.
