I am truly saddened to hear of Bette's passing.I have very fond memories of her, having studied privately with her over 35 years ago. She would often draw my attention to the smallest detail in my interpretation saying, "you are not just learning to be good, but to be New York good". She certainly was that. My heartfelt condolences to Bill and family.

Bette gave me some advice 30 odd years ago, quote "Gerry if your gonna play, stop frowning". Wonderful advice for life as well! I will never forget that terrific twinkle in her eye, what fun she was.

I was very sad to hear about Bette Motzing's passing. i was privileged to meet this kind warmest and most gracious and generous woman. Bill Motzing was my supervisor at the Sydney Con and i was having my own troubles, but Bette was so non-judgemental,, and generously helped me with my work.Both Bette and Bill extended their friendship to me at a tough time. My condolences and best wishes to Bill at this difficult time. Jo Truman
