Charles was my beloved dad Edgar Anzarut's first cousin. I live in Canada and Charles lived in Australia, but we phoned each other frequently as he loved my dad so much, and we would share family stories. He really missed us and kept saying that he would one day come to Canada to see me. Alas this never came to be.. Whenever we spoke I would ask him "Charles how are you?" and he would say "Top of the World" and we would share a good laugh as he lived "Down Under" When he told me that he had been "dubbed" Officer de la Legion d'Honneur by the French government I asked him what it was for and he used to joke and say that he put his hand up before anyone else had the chance. He recounted the story of the WW2 when he was part of the landing in Sicily. I was so very fond of him, and miss him very much indeed. He was a wonderful jovial gentleman who never complained about anything. He adored his wife who had sadly passed away, and missed her till the end. He adored his son and his sin's family. I shall never forget Charles as long as I live. He was a king among men. Edna Anzarut-Turner from Canada
