While there are many words that can begin to describe Chuck Sitter, the one word that best exemplifies how Chuck lived his life is "integrity". Throughout his professional and personal life Chuck was always known to be a man of the highest ethics and principles. He did not simply "talk a good game", he demonstrated it in his every day life. I have never met a man who more frequently took the high road in all of his decisions. On a personal note, I always enjoyed my time with Chuck, particularly sitting in front of the television and watching endless sporting events during the holidays. I always got a chuckle from his dry sense of humor and the big smile on his face that always followed. I could not have asked for a better Father-In-Law. Bill Wigglesworth

As a surprise gift for my High School graduation, Dad planned a river rafting trip down the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon. Dad remembered seeing me, years before, reading a National Geographic story about people rafting this river, and asked if I wanted to do that someday. I said "yes" without thinking much about it. And surprise! He booked it! It was a fabulous trip. We slept in the open air in sleeping bags. It was wonderful to watch the "shooting stars"...the sky was so clear we'd see 6 or more at night before we fell asleep. The food was good, the crew was great, and the people on the 2 rafts that traveled together were fun. The river water was so cold (45 degrees Farenheit)! It was great to get hot, then hit the rapids and get cold, and then be in the sun again to warm up. The beverages were dragged behind the rafts in net bags to keep them cold. YUM! We stopped each day and hiked to amazing Indian ruins, or to beautiful caverns and streams. Being at the bottom of the Grand Canyon was stunning. On the second to last day we ran a huge rapid in our raft first...then the second raft followed. The main "hole" was 35 feet and the rafts were 33 feet. We successfully ran the rapid, but the second raft flipped over, spilling people and cargo. We recovered all the people, and caught up with the stranded raft and its captain. We flipped the raft back upright, and set up camp for the night. Our portable toilet was lost...and most of the sleeping bags and clothes of the people on the 2nd raft. So Dad and I volunteered to give up our sleeping bags and shivered through the night with plastic sheets instead. Our last night we had a bonfire and a talent show, and we all got our "river rat" pins. It was a warm and joyful experience. We all hated to say goodbye when we got to the end of the trip, where we boarded vehicles to take us out of the canyon. It was a great memory of Dad being totally relaxed and having fun. What a thoughtful gift. What a treasured memory! Thanks, Dad! Love, Cindy
