I was Christie's keyboard player for the 1980 your. My first tour as a musician, my first plane flight and my first time out of Vic/SA. I had a secret love for disco and for synths -a mini moog, Solina and CP70b I had on tour from memory. When we supported KC and the Sunshine band it was freaking awesome. They were the funkiest band on the planet and, coming straight from Adelaide, I'd never seen such uber crazy black 70s gear before... and that was before they changed into their stage gear! Give it up was on the charts when we toured (so was Goosebumps) Christie was quiet and unassuming and incredibly shy. Always positive but a little starstruck. Her music now speaks for itself. Great pop songs, great arrangements and a magnificent vocal. Simple yet perfect. Understated and pure. RIP Christie. Thanks for your support.

Why on earth some baseball hitters don't realize Ray Lewis Ravens Jersey that a weak ten hopper to the second baseman is all that's called for in certain situations. This is a total mystery to me. The base hit or "bomb" is not always what's required. You can be somewhat of a hero just by hitting Cary Williams Jersey a weak ground ball and getting an important runner home from third base. If players don't realize this, maybe they should be reminded of it more often by their coaches. It always comes down Ed Reed Jersey to what that particular situation calls for.

In 1987, myself, Bronwyn George, David Tognella & Rob Jarman formed a 3 piece Band calling ourselves "CRESSENDA" - we were a local Bunbury / Brunswick Junction based outfit & we did covers of some of the greatest songs ever; ranging from the late 1950's, to the 1980's. We played at various local venues from Yarloop, to Bunbury & other places in between & we had the good fortune to be introduced to Christie by my ex husband's family friend. Christie was a lovely person & a joy to be around. Our Band played a gig at the Brunswick Show in 1987 & because Christie had become good friends with us, she accepted our offer to make a Guest Appearance during our performance. Sadly, I had to leave our Band shortly after due to family commitments, but I will always be grateful for having Christie & her daughter Christa Lea (who was a toddler back then) as my friends. I am totally shocked to read (only now) that Christie passed away 4 years ago & my heart goes out to her family. She has gone to "Rock & Roll Heaven" & you know they have a "Hell of a Band" Your Star will always shine brightly Chris, with Much Love & Admiration, Bronni xxxx

I was about 12 or 13 when I first heard Christie and remember seeing her on Countdown. My friends and I used to sing to her music. I still listen to her now. Wow, what a beautiful lady she was.

My Biggest and Most Memorable Memory of My Beloved Christie Was Listening To Her Record " Magic Rhythm " Which I Had Bought Was My All Time Favorite Song. She Made Me So Happy as I Was Growing Up in The Eighties and All I Had To Turn To Was My Music.. Even Today I Still Have Her 45 Lp Magic Rhythm Which I Keep Close To My Heart Especially Now Knowing She is No Longer With Us. Why Did God Have To Take Her She Was So Beautiful Inside And Out.. Even Now Listening Her Song Magic Rhythm Can Not Help Let Tears Fall. She Was Only 53 Years Old is Way Too Young To Die.. Now Listening Her Song Only Brings Tears To My Eyes. I Miss Her So Much May Her Soul Rest in Peace. May She Be Singing Up There in Heaven Still Rocking on in All Our Hearts. She May Be Gone But Her Memory Will Live on For Ever More..

Christie! You sang the first song I became obsessed with, I am sure I drove my folks bananas with my multiple re-runs of "Hes my number one" I ended up loving all of your songs. You always looked so happy in your video clips, and brought joy to all who heard your music. When I watched the Mushroom celebration you looked as cheerful and sounded as brilliant as always, you never lost it! You will always live on in my memory! I would love to see a tribute album so the world can continue to enjoy your tunes. Shine on! Stu

Today I was working and my favorite song "goosebumps" came on. Had me thinking about the nights i'd come over to babysit Christalea when u were working gigs throughout Bunbury. We loved walking down to the Australind shops to get our dinner, and we loved watching u cooking the best hot chips in Australia.. I had so much fun listening to your music stories & after gig chit chats. Today like every other day I felt blessed to know ur music is still kicking around & fans still get to hear your beautiful voice..

My name is Alexandra and i am 17, but love 70's and 80's music. I'm sorry if this message has already come up, but i'm not sure if it worked. I only came to know about Christie this year, but from what i've seen on reruns of Countdown and what i've read people say i think she seems like a pretty nice person. Each year i hold a bingo with my family and we play bingo and have a theme of singer/bands.This year one of them is Christie and we're donating money to the Cancer Council in her name. I think it's a shame that know one knows more about her, as it is hard to find cds of hers in shops. I have seen some songs of hers on Youtube. I can't say that i know Christie all that personally, but i can say that i feel sad she has died, and just also want to let her family and friends know that i feel sorry for them.

Christie Allen will always hold a special place in my heart. As a shy 12 & 13 year old, her passionate innocence in Goose Bumps gave me goose bumps, and the disco'd desire & devotion of He's My Number One (which she surely sang about me!?!) was like a triumphant fanfare declaring my entrance to manhood...! Christie you were gorgeous, like most of us I unfortunately lost track of you as we got older. I recently heard of your Mushroom re-union performance in '98, sorry that I didnt get to see it, maybe I still can somewhere, possibly on the net. I'm also intrigued by your settling in country WA and yr excursion into Country and Western music, woulda liked to hear that..Rest in Peace gorgeous and thank you for being spectacularly you, and for warming a young boy's cold heart with yr joy and passion... And I'm still yr No 1....fan...XXX

I too was watching Countdown last night on Rage and was so shocked at the beginning of the episode that it was dedicated to Christie Allen. I had no idea she had even been ill. Sympathy to her family and Christie I am sure you are bopping away up there in your metallic lycra leggings and gorgeous perm. Peace out. P.S. Goosebumps is still a fantastic pop song to dance to.

I Just watched a Classic Countdown episode from 1979, and Christie Allen was hosting and singing, this braught back memories. I was a happy & carefree 14 year old. I liked Christie's pop songs and the joy goosbumps gave me at the time. I never heard of her passing until I did a internet search. Now I feel really sad. thank you for the gift of music you left us.

God bless, and sincere sympathy to all you family, how lucky they were to be blessed with the gift of YOU. Charlotte

I turn 43 nxt wk & ws thinking bout my teen yrs & the pop artists i jst simply loved to listen to on the radio & watch on Countdown. So i googled Leif Garett & then Christie Allen ... my heart just sunk & felt shattered as i ' just now ' found out that Christie had passed away. The year 2008 has been the most heartbreaking year of my life & to then read that Christie had passed. I jst want to say THANKYOU to Christie for your music ... that you helped me escape the unhappy home i lived in and put me in a happy world listening to you singing. You will for the rest of my life always be the HAPPY part of my teen years. What an impact YOU made in my life ... and i'm just ONE person !

I was only 7 or 8 years old when I first saw Christie on Countdown but her music left a lasting impression on me. I only found out by accident that she is no longer with us, while doing a search for news about her on the Net. I can't help but smile every time I play either of her albums... What a legacy to leave us with! Rock on in the afterlife Christie xxx

I remember one night turning on the TV, it was "RAGE" countdown episodes, he introduced Christie Allen "Switchboard" at the age of 23 at the time I was enchanted by her charisma in the song, I became obsessed by her, I looked her up everywhere. Mostly it said that after her 'Detour' album she vanished - this added to the intrigue and mistique. I started looking her up on ebay..... I found her singles "he's my number one", and "ships that pass through the night". I love Christie Allen, although I'm not from the disco era like her - I found her captivating. I actually shed a tear when I saw this thread trying to find rare memerobilia on her. I love you Christie, I never knew you, but you obviously had a beautiful soul! Charlie - Christie Allen lover, and player!

I was just doing a search on her, and just found out. She was always one of those special voices I loved, and was part of growing up. She was such an inspiration. I still remember the morning I saw a clip of her on "Sounds" and thought "what an amazing voice". My tape of her from the '80's has died (from over use) and I wanted to see if anything else was available. How sad. Sympathy to all her family and friends and fans.

I was a huge fan of Christie and want to share a not so good memory of her. Myself and a couple of friends went to see her at Maroubra Seals in the late 70's and after the show we went backstage and she talked to us so warmly for a while and shared some stories of her music experinces like making film clips and photo-shoots and banter. I especially remember her saying how she felt silly for the photo cover shoot for the first album holding cones on string which is why you can see her arms are slightly raised. Anyway we noticed three guys in the background who were making silly jibes at us but were obviously part of her entourage backstage. When we left the club these 3 guys followed us and then started laying punches to us. Luckily an old couple in a car saw our distress and stopped and we leapt into their car but not before one of the guys took a big lunch at my friend and he got a black eye! A year later I remember reading in TV Week that Christie was being bashed by her boyfriend and had left him so it was not hard to deduce that he was one of the gang and probably a jealous man. My thoughts to Christie's family.

My sisters and I 16,14 and 12 went to the TV Week Pop Awards in 1981. After the show wejust strolled right through into the bar and the afterparty. In there for nearly an hour, we met our fair share of the cream of australian music of the time. We met Christy in the loo, and she started to speaking to us. She was very gracious, spoke to us on our level and we will never forget that. Thanks Christie.

My thought's are with Christie's family. What a talent she had, I had the pleasure of working for Christie way back in the late 70's I still treasure a birthday card from her. But most of all it was that smile and the "angle voice" at the Sunday session's that would give me goosebumps. The memories will stay with me forever, thankyou Christie for being you. I remember 1979 being a wonderful time in my life. I was 15 at the time adjusting to all the things teenagers do. having my first beer, girls, good times with your mates and those long hot summers. time seemed to be simpler then. The music of those days bring back so many beautiful memories. ' Born to be alive' by Patrick Hernandez was big at the time as was The Knack and ' lets go' by the Cars and of course Christies big hits. Ill never forget the first time I saw her on countdown , I thought she was the most attractive woman Id ever seen. Truly Beautiful. I was very sad to hear of her passing as the memories of those days came flooding back and yesterday the 'Magic Rhythm' album got a good going over in the car. God Bless Christie R.I.P
