Everyday I wake up thinking today is going to be a better day and a little easier but it seems like each day has a new and more difficult challenge. Reading these postings on the positive ways Christopher touched your lives gives me a feeling of contentment. I know now how special he was to all of you and now I don't feel so all alone. Christopher's an angel looking down praying for us to have peace!

shame on the person trying to "validate" their relationship, and demise another thru such a tragedy. Those who knew him wouldn't have to justify themselves, nor bring down family members. This person summed up in one-DESPERATE!! Shows character-or should I say-LACK THERE OF! Far from a class act like most who new him for more than a "supposed" 6 years!

April, I'm so happy to have read your post, you can't believe it. I've always known Christopher was a special person even though I never met him. I was really hurt by some of the information I had seen in the press but your words let me know know that my feeling were right all along. Christopher touched so many people in his life and the saddest thing for me is that he will never know how many or how deeply. Thank you again for your words and for loving Christopher.

Thank you April for clearing the air. I was appalled that a so called good friend slung mud on Christopher's memory. Telling the media all kinds of lies.If this was what Christopher had to deal with in his life I truly am sorry. My heart goes out to you. Thank God he had you.

It is with much sadness that I learned of Christopher's death and my sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. I know that my own children will never forget the fun and excitement that always surrounded Chris and the many laughs we had when he was teaching here at the Colonial Skating Club in Mass. A kind and very talented young man, Christopher truly enjoyed people and always entertained us with his stories. God bless you, Chris, may you be in a better place

I am so happy to have found this site-- I am so happy to have read Ms. Freeman's thoughts-- I have been a huge fan since I was a young girl and had the pleasure of meeting him several times. I am older now and have my own family. His death has really upset me --he was such a wonderful free spirit and I like many others really adored him. I am praying for him and all those who loved him. I am truly sorry for your loss- I am so glad you posted because I am so glad someone loved him and he loved someone and was not all alone the way the media potrayed his death. May his spirit live on. R.I.P. You will be missed

Christopher was an inspiration to all who love skating. Like many great entertainers, he brought joy and thrills to many. Unfortunately also like many wonderful and talented individuals, he was unable to channel all of his energy only in a positive direction. Lives like Chris' are precious; and anyone who knows anyone in trouble like he was, should do everything and anything to reach out to them before it's too late. Even someone famous with alot of attention, sometimes still can feel alone and unloved, trapped, without a way out. I didn't know Chris personally, but I do know he was a free spirit, and an amazing talent. Whatever it was that was troubling you before - now you are free of it forever. You will be remembered best by all who knew you well, and many who weren't as fortunate.

Christopher loved life and always did things his way ... He was the other 1/2 of me, the adventurous and daring side. Christopher was the kindest and most sensitive person I've ever known even though he didn't always like to show that to the public. He never said an ill word about anyone and always went out of his way to lend a hand, even when he had no more to give. Our souls are connected and will be forever. I was blessed by his love and he takes my love with him on his new journey. I will always cherish the happiness and love we shared as we mapped out our future together and wouldn't trade a second of time we had during his last 6 years. I love you Christopher ... my heart and love will always belong to you!

It is with so much sadness , that I find news about CB death. He was a "snake charmer " with heart of gold...time we spend together in Toronto where filled with drama, laughter, binging on burgers and fries , some serious training and few axels came in between. My condolances to his supportive mom who through all his ups and downs stood by her son. Chris I will miss you. Sasha

I liked the way Chris Bowman skated. I am saddened by his Death. I am also hoping that, in the future skaters will be more closely watched to make certain they are not jeopardizing their lives. This was an unforeseen and unexpected tragedy.

I didn't know Christopher, but I was saddened to learn of his death and have been praying for the repose of his soul daily since then. May God grant him swift entry to heaven, and the freedom from pain and suffering which he so truly deserves. I am intimately familiar with the sufferings associated with bipolar disorder. My heart grieves the loss of Christopher and goes out to his family and friends. May the peace of God be with you.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen." Christopher Bowman's tragic and untimely death can be attributed, in large part, to the stigma associated with mental illness and the consequent widespread ignorance of behaviors that indicate the presence of bipolar disorder, a brain chemistry imbalance. Had Christopher been properly diagnosed much earlier in life, there's no doubt that his life would have played out in a much different and infinitely better way than it has. May his death not be in vain.

I am so sad to hear about Christopher Bowman's death. I met him briefly after an Olympic Ice Skating Show in 1988 and he was such a nice guy. He was an incredible skater, athlete and performer. His style and enthusiasms will not be forgotten.

Chris, I was very saddened to hear of your death. I hope you are in a better place. I knew you at Colonial when my kids skated there. There was always an air of excitement when you showed up. I remember I payed you for a lesson for my son. I didn't have all the money at the time. It was some time before you showed up- maybe a couple of weeks. I gave you the rest of the money. You were so touched that I gave it to you. You said you totally had forgotten about it. Then you gave me some back. That was your sweet side. Not everyone remembers that side of you. RIP Florie

Christopher, it seems like a lifetime ago that an admiring fan from Toronto sent you a letter. When you moved to Toronto to train, it seemed fate intervened and we never got that chance to meet. How sad I am that you're gone, and yet happy knowing you are at peace, finally, and I'm sure, skating up a storm in heaven.

What a sad loss for the skating world. His love for skating was always so evident. The passion he had for skating can only for compared to the greats of the recent past, Toller Cranston; Scotty Hamilton and Kurt Browning. Rest in peace Chris. To your parents, my deepest condolences, a wrenching pain to lose a child.

Chris, you were always one of my favorite skaters of all time, an amazing talent. Who knew 6 a.m. in a freezing ice rink could be so fun. You made everyone including myself laugh and smile everyday. You will be missed but never forgotten. You are in a much better place now my friend. Your smile shines on everyone that was priviledged to know you!!!!

My husband and I followed Christopher Bowman's career from the time he was a little boy to manhood. He was the most charismatic and talented skater that I have ever seen - always fun to watch. He seemed like a nice boy and man to us and I am sure that he was. We send our deepest sympathy to his daughter and mother.

It had to have been in the summer when I had just started figure skating. Chris had moved out east for a while was doing some coaching and such at Colonial. I was in the bleachers on day waiting for my next practice and he came up and sat with me and started talking to me. I had to have been around 7 maybe 8 at the time. I was a stuburn kid and faught with him on how high I could jump. I told him one day I would fly higher. My mom has the conversation on tape to this day. I think a few weeks later he got into a motorcycle accident and broke his leg. It seems like it was all just yesterday. He has been one of my idles ever since, its such a shame that such tallent had to end this way. I send my heart to his family. He was a once and life time kind of guy.

I remember how great it was to watch Christopher skate! He always seemed to be able to pull off great performances. I wanted to see him gain Frank Carroll's approval after the performances. I am sad to see that he had so many issues with drugs. We have to remember the gift of his skating. Thank you, Christopher, and peace to you!

How saddened I am to hear this news. I remember the daily practices, competitions seminars and shows we attended over the years. You always made me laugh and morning practice sessions were never quite the same when you weren't there! I especially remember the summer shows at Van Nuys Iceland and the great fun we had :) Rest in peace my friend! My deepest sympathy to your family.....
