Chris’s strength and warmth of heart went beyond the common person. His sense of justice was beyond his personal life experience to include others whether they were friends, family or acquaintances and his response to injustice went beyond a feeling of compassion, to sincere distress and motivation to do something to help others. He was a truly community minded person. The love between Sue and Chris that we all witnessed enriched the lives of all who came in touch with them. His loyalty and love to Sue was unwavering.

In my farewell to my husband Chris I wish to dedicate this poem to him: If I only had five minutes the day you passed away, I would have had time to tell you all the things I needed to say. I never got to tell you how much you mean to me, And tell you that I love you – in the final hours of your day I'd give you one last hug and see your great big smile. I'd tell you that I don't think I could live without you, not even for a while I'd kiss your cheek and take your hand and tell you it's okay to die But you were gone so quickly, One last car ride you'd take. Before you even knew it, you were standing at heavens gate. Now God has called upon you, It's time to get your wings. So wait for me in heaven Chris, Don't let me come alone. The day the angels come for me, Please be there to bring me home.

One year on ............. my thoughts and love are with you. The black granite grave will be ready in October (2011). We have created a Chris Fink Art Award in your honour and there will be Aboriginal Dancing and music to demonstrate the high regard in which the Jerringa Aboriginal community held you. The memorials that many friends have contirbuted demonstrate what a true person you were - loving, generous and a giver. You will never be forgotten
