A year has past and our memories of you bring us comfort and ease the pain of your loss. I ask everyone on May 13 to pick a helicopter out of the sky when it flies over and put it in your shirt pocket close to your heart in honor of and in prayer for all the victims who have perished in helicopter accidents.

My Childhood Sweetheart! My Forever Friend! Separated by circumstances beyond either of us! Reunited by the Grace of God to heal fractured hearts and, for a purpose beyond us! I am thankful for the gift of our friendship, for the last 13 years. And now once again, I call on Him for strength as I move from the shock of you dying -to the long and difficult journey called " Grief" for Edi I miss you so, and the wonderful chuckle I would hear in your voice. You Have made your way back to Him Edi- I am thankful. He has answered many prayers. He did Bless the work of your Hands- particularly in the very last moments of your life here on earth as you tried to protect others. I always was, and am so proud of you Edi. Always and forever. I met Kyle working Pine Beetle in Northern Alberta in 2007/2008. I've spent the last week trying to find out if it was the same Kyle I met that had passed away this last week. I only knew him for a short while but even in that time I thought he was a great person and I also was lucky enough to hear some of his stories. It seems like it was only yesterday that he let me help him put the rotor blankets on the chopper with him. He was an amazing pilot and an even more amazing person and I am glad to have met him.

Kyle and I met through a mutual friend not long after he returned from Mt. Everest. We spent a year and a half of our life together. He was an amazing man. The best story teller you can imagine. He had so many adventures in his life that is was almost surreal. We would spend every weekend camping at the Chilliwack river. He loved listening to Jimmy Buffet records. He loved smoking a cigar and a glass of rum. He was stubborn but generous. He had class. He could iron a shirt like nobody's business! He was a true nature lover. But the bottom line was his passion for flying helicopters.. Nothing in this world was going to stop him from living his dream. Kyle, I'm glad you got to live the way you always wanted to. You might be gone but you were and never will be forotten.

We moved from Cranbrook last February but still have many friends there. We were really shocked to hear about this disaster. Our hearts go out to the families of those killed.
