Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this. Living in Canada, I haven't been able to see Auntie Dulcie as much as I would have liked in recent years. The last time was when I went home for my brother David's wedding about a year ago and visited her in Oak Towers. I've always loved her wry sense of humour, her kindness, and the stories she used to tell me of her and Nana (her sister Jean) growing up in Birregurra, going to stay with relatives in New Zealand, the good and bad times. A few years ago, my husband Fred and I were lucky enough to stay with her for a few days in Murrumbeena. It was a contrast to visiting her as a kid - I remember pulling my brother David out of her pool by this long hair as kids when he nearly drowned and was glad the pool was gone! Living with her for a few days we had the pleasure of talking as adults, talking about how much she loved her husband, how proud she was of her children too, and has been so lucky to have a wonderful extended family around her. She was a fixture many a time too, at Nana's house in Highett, where she provided a calming influence growing up. She would always slip a $5 bill into our birthday cards! Auntie Dulcie and Nana were "thick as thieves" and great friends, filling the house with laughter. Sleep well dear Auntie Dulcie, I will miss you. Love, Katrina
