My father was born in Salina ITALY he loved to travel the Isole Eolian ISLANDS as a young boy he would row the islands in a wooden rowboat and he would also walk for miles around Salina at 18 he was enlisted in the Italian Navy and served his country musolinii govt with loyalty and Integrity he was wounded in action fighting the British Navy he was so pissed of the politics of the Admirals of the time selling out to the Royall Navy he wqs a true patriot of Italy ad he proudly served his country. After the war he immergrated to Australia in 1950 and lived in KIRRABILLI and learnt English fron a Irish woman who lived near by AND WOULD SPEND MOST OF HIS TIME AT LUNA PARK and his first job was working for the NSW Railways working as a labourer helping building the railways near circular quay after spending time with the railways he got a job working in a fruit shop on circular quay which he loved he also worked in a fruit shop in Haldon Street Lakemba and worked with his cousin John PALISI he lived with his sister and brother ASSUNTA AND GUISEPPE (PINO) AND HIS MOTHER Concetta in BELFEILD NSW Dad met my mother thru her godmother Marrina Casomento AND FELL INSTANTLY in love with Mum she said she was in love with his good looks and his hair lol in August 1960 they were married in a church in Gladesville and soon after I was Born Joseph Marino Ferlazzo 8/9/61 and then my brother Marino Ferlazzo born 23/1/1964 My Father taught me about life and all about all my nautical skills being a true sailor my mother and father loved fishing and would spend many hours in middle harbour and nelson bay together mum would always catch the biggest fish lol DAD loved animals an loved spending time in his garden at home and in the nursery that he worked with my Favourite uncle Domenic for many years he became a proud Auastralian Citizen in 1995 at a ceromy in Castle Hill I will truly miss you dad LOVE YOU FOREVER Joseph Ferlazzo devoted son
