Gem today is the day we say goodbye to you. I have known you since you were in year 8 when you used to hang around Adam and Kyle. Although i hadn't seen you for a while Adam always let me know how you were. You were taken way too young and in a way that should never have happened. An error in judgement is all it was and unfortunatley turned out all wrong, i know you were not a drug addict, but like so many others just experimenting, hopefully a lesson will be learned by your friends from this tragic event. My sympathies to your Mum and Family, it is so tragic to lose a child and i know she is missing you terribly. I know you will be up there with your wings on with Ash right by your side. I've met Gemma on a few occasions. It Hurts thats a girl as beautiful as her self had to go through what she did. At the end of the day it is no-ones fault not even her own, we all know that not always things go as planned. Gemma was just young, beautiful and wanting to have fun, no-one can blame her for that. Gemma ou shouldnt have died.... we have all made silly choices in our youth and 99% of us lived to tell the tale. You shouldnt have died there was no need. If only the Big Day out spent as much $$$ on toliets, security guards and cleaners as they do on first aid/medical you would have had a fighting chance of survival. Why did they trust your life to under trained volunters with a first aid certificate? why didd you get assessed properly, why didnt you have a core temperature taken (to show ou were in trouble), why didn you get cardiac monitored, why did you get an IV drip t stop your body melting? lets start a campaing to see thee event get real medical teams on site. When we got to big eents in Sydney they have real Docotors, nurses and Paramedics there, shouldnt this be the norm all over Australia.
