Yesterday I dialled your telephone number to wish you a happy birthday and received a message stating the number was invalid (what's happened?). Then I dialled your mobile telephone number and heard a message stating there was a restriction on incoming calls (now I'm worried). Then I googled and was shocked and deeply saddened to learn you had passed. What happened??? We met you 17 years ago when we moved to 36 Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge and became your neighbours for just under 2 years. I remember when you bought us 3 scratchies for assisting you and, on each occasion, a prize of $50 was won ($25 for you and $25 for us) and your disbelief at the winnings. I also remember it took me 3 weeks to pluck up the courage to tell you we were moving. I felt as if we were betraying you and, in your wisdom, you remarked that we had probably paid $20,000 in rent and could not even take with us a brick. How true! Remember when you moved to Willoughby and had your beloved Bonnie exhumed and relocated in your new backyard? She was a good mate. One of the funny things I remember is when you used to watch television in the evening, fall asleep, miss the ending of one movie and then awake to find yourself watching the ending of a different movie. Probably made for better viewing When I came home from work today Murray asked if I'd been thinking of you as he had been - you were immediately on mind when I awoke this morning I will miss our hour-long telephone calls, your smile, anecdotes, intelligence, wit and humility. You are a true gentleman and we are now missing you. If anybody is reading this, I would be extremely grateful if you would contact me on 02 6581 2340. Your friends Cheryl & Murray
