I did my apprenticeship with Graham when the business was CIC contractors and Hopkinsons Services, these were the days just before Hoppos buses arrived. A hard but fair boss is my best memory of Graham. Always available to have a chat and always ready to rip you a new one if you stuffed up but then all was forgiven. A good bloke. Terry Brown.

Graham was a unique man who always did things his own way and that was what was so special about him. His motto may well have been "Never let the rules get in the way of a good idea". I've always remembered that Graham gave me my first start in the bus industry, employing me as his Coach Operations Manager in 1984 when I was just 22. They were great days, which I still look back on fondly. He will be deeply missed.
