To Mirri and Bill, Tim and Libby you have my sincere condolences upon the death of Ian. Although I am far away in the USA and never met Ian I know a death so close to home is just shocking and one can never be preapred enough for these things. Aunt Catherine is my step mother and such a great person I could not let this event pass as she feels it too and has emailed me often about how he was doing with his fight against cancer. You nevr know how painful love can be until you experience the death of that loved person.

To Ian "Wal" Wallace's family and friends, It is with both shock and sorry that I learned of Ian's passing a week ago and with regret that I was unable to attend the funeral yesterday. I was a friend of Wal's at St. Mary's High Gateshead and although I hadn't seen him in a couple of years, most recently we caught up for a drink in the CBD a couple of years ago, I and I know many of his friends from high school will miss him. Wal broke down the boundaries of the school yard cliques and was able to befriend any group in our year. He was liked by all and brought a sense of fun with him all the time. His cheeky smile will be missed. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and am thankful that I ran into Tim at Martin Place station by chance around 3 years ago. Without this chance encounter I wouldn't have had the opportunity to see Wal a couple more times. Regards, John Callachor, Gymea Bay. p.s I'll catch you on the other side Wal, your old mate John Callachor

Wal Will miss you terribly buddy. Never forget our first meeting when I arrived in Newcastle and you were working for JJ Woodward. Your devlish sense of humour and giggle echo in my mind. It was as though something exciting, if not naughty, were always germinating inside. JR
